Started walking--finally

Just keep it up. It will get easier. I imagine its plenty hot where you are right now too... I have to keep trying to get myself up earlier and earlier, but I keep ending up running on the treadmill....
It's not too bad, yet. Today was only in the upper 70's. Tomorrow it will be in the 80's and will stay there for the rest of the week. It won't be long and we will need to walk first thing in the morning instead of between noon and one.
Don't worry about trying to get the whole mile in right now. Do what you can until you are ready to add more on. Your body will adjust and you'll be able to do it soon enough.

I love having the nice weather here, though it's a bit cool still. I've been out walking and doing a little jogging lately. I've also done some inside stuff like stomach crunches and back leg lifts (my stomach and butt muscles need toning.) I started with my husband, but he's iffy on his exercise, so I've had to do some on my own.

It's also not just about distance. The hills figure in there as well. Stairs and hills are more aerobic than just plain walking, therefore the mixed walk is a better workout.
