Things on Tuesday

I'm definitely with you on the hot. I like it cool, sixties and seventies. Also, depending on how your heating system is laid out, you might want to check the ducts going to his room. Sometimes they use little round dampers inside the round ductwork going to rooms to help balance the air flow. In our house,. the front bedrooms were almost shut off completely. You will usually find them installed within a few feet from the main duct. Hope this helps...

His duct/vent is open. I stood on a chair Sunday and checked the flow coming from the vent. It's there; not terribly hard, but there and blows onto the overheated window....I imagine his vent is one of the first ones as it is closest to the AC unit.

The main issue is his room gets hit with sun pratically all day, first the South-most facing wall followed by West-most wall with big picture window.

I think it might help if we take the vent cover off and turn it around so the air is directed more into the room and not straight down the window. Or, we could just close the door and tell him to deal. LOL!!!

We have been having similar bad heat indexes....It's brutal and hard to explain that the heat index combined with misty humidity of 85% is really difficult to deal with daily. On the up note for me, it poured and thundered at 4 am today, which helped....

How long has Baron been night crated? Teulu used to hate that oo and eventually got used to it, and now his crate is like an unused relic.

And I am having a similar Bill issue.

We have three pooches in crates at night. waking up in the morning is fun, as soon as they hear someone close a bedroom door, all hell breaks loose. LOL.

Baron has been crated since just a few weeks after we moved to the new house.

The OLD house had a crawl space with a LOT of give in the floor. Baron could make the whole house shake as he was coming down the hall. This house is on a slab so the floor has ZERO give to it. Baron is a mini-dachsund. He jumped off the couch one day and immediately yipped then started walking with his head down and crying when picked up. A trip to the vet, some anti-inflammetory drugs and he was better. The vet also told us to keep him from jumping down off of the furniture. Since he has been known to catapult himself off the bed in the middle of the night to bark at some unseen thing...and since he'll get mad and tear something up if he's got the run of the house and I deny his 'begging' to be let up on the bed...he's got to be crated. I hate it. We've discussed getting a set of those doggie stairs...but hate to spend the money if my old stubborn dog is too old and stubborn to learn to use them.

But, I think I'm going to check them out. I always wanted a small dog to sleep with me...now I have one and had him with me for 8+ years. I really really miss him.

Do boys still have to take "shop" in high school? maybe Jordan and Chris can build one for you for a project. You could probably easily carpet it with remnants from the Salvation Army, or you might have a freecycle group in your area, look at freecycle.org
