Tuesday things or Things on Tuesday
Totally Terrific Tuesday Things:
- I woke up this morning
- I had a great time in Houston meeting new friends and visiting with old ones.
- I got to visit Samuel's Spot for the first time in seven years.
- My mother-in-law loves her birthday present
- I caught the typo before I sent this post.
- Anticipation of seeing my sister-in-law, her husband and the girls over July 4th weekend
- School starts back August 6th.
- Jordan is still loving karate
- Anticipating the hair cut that will end with a donation to Locks of Love, and a new short style for me.
Totally Terrible Tuesday Things:
- A friend in Houston is being abused by her husband and there isn't anything I can do to help her until she is ready to help herself.
- Visiting Samuel's Spot for the first time in seven years---who knows when I'll be back
- Gaining back all the weight I lost
- Chris's unexplained weight gain: 30 pounds in less than 12 weeks.
- Husband and son addicted to video games
- Coughing
- Trying to get in to the doctor---oh, she's on maternity leave---so we have to try another doctor. They'll see me on Thursday for my cough, but will have to see if they can work Chris in for his unexplained weight gain.
- School starts back August 6th and Jordan will be in the 7th grade.
- Child abuse

Wowee. I hope you'll totally document the hair cut!!! I don't think I've ever had my hair long enough for that. Very Cool!!!!
Glad Jordan is still loving on the Karate. Does he go to a different school for 7th grade?
I'm planning on documenting it at least with before and after shots---maybe even a couple of 'during' shots. I think I'll have it whacked and a new perm put in at the same time. Unfortunately I'm not to terribly fond of my hair too short unless it has some curl or body to it. My hair is naturally straight, baby fine and thick....a hair dressers worst nightmare.
Jordan will be going to the same school as the middle school here is for 5th through 8th grade. They keep the 5th and 6th grade down on one half of the school and the 7th and 8th are in the other half. So, it's a bit like two different schools, but the same principal and vice principal, dress code, and all that.
"A friend in Houston is being abused by her husband and there isn't anything I can do to help her until she is ready to help herself"
Went through the same kind of thing with a friend. No way to help them until they are ready to help themselves. Very frustrating to say the least. I hope she realizes she needs help and gets it before anything bad happens.
She has realized she needs to get out. Now she just has to gather enough courage and internal strength to make it happen. She's sick (we think he is poisoning her) she's scared, and she is totally dependent on him for money.
We've all told her that a shelter will help her, that we will help her---she just needs to finally realize that she just can't go on living like this.
I'm scared the children (ages nearly 17 and 14) are already scarred for life.
