Things that need to be done today:
- Clean the kitchen, it hasn't had a decent clean in weeks---it gets a lick and a promise (almost) everyday, but it needs a deep--move the canisters and scrub the burners--cleaning.
- Sweep and mop the kitchen floor.
- Vacuum---including the couch, the corners, and the edges.
- pay the bills
- laundry
- decide what to have for supper tonight, tomorrow night and the next night so I can----
- ---grocery shop
- pick blueberries
- scrub the bathrooms---hasn't been done in a long time
- straighten/declutter the whole house----its a pigsty.
- The people that want to buy the house want to come over and look at it again----it's been over a year since they've been inside---so---all of the above needs to happen so I can feel better about----
- make up a list of houses to see next weekend
I'm stressing about it all...so much so that just a few minutes ago I was crying from being over whelmed by it all. Chris says I just need to worry about getting some laundry done so we can go to the office Monday and Tuesday. The rest of it will get done when it gets done. But, it's all been left for too long and just leaving it alone is stressing me out more than not doing any of it. Chris says we've been so busy that a day off to just sit, veg, and watch TV or look at the real estate magazine is what is in order.
~sigh~
I can't decide.
After five years of on and off the market we finally got an pretty solid offer on our house. I love my house and my property. I'm not so much in love with the little bitty town we live in. I know Chris will be happier in a bigger town/city. I'm hoping Jordan will be able to cultivate friends in the new place----but I really don't want to pack up and move...again....for the 31st time in my life. Each time I think: This is it, I'm not moving again. And before I can turn around----we are making plans to move so I don't even get to unpack all of my 'stuff'. I've got things packed up that I haven't seen in years---and I know I'd use it if it weren't packed up.
I know once we get moved there will be a HUGE HUGE HUGE garage sale---all of Jordan's toys are going. I've never given any away---so I have 12 years of toys boxed up and stored....they are all going to go! Plus who knows what all else I've managed to collect two of because one was in storage and I needed another.....heh, I might even find my missing my Easter decorations.....
If you could leave notes for the future, what message would you have left in the past for today?
Submitted by Nameless.
I would leave myself a note telling me to insist that the doctor do a more thorough check of my pregnancy on Sept. 7, 1999. Then we would have found that I was in silent labor, and we could have caught the incompentent cervix in time to save Samuel's life. Right now I'd be a Mom to two living boys instead of one living and one Angel.
Of course if Samuel had lived then who knows what our lives would be like now. Chris may not have quit his job in Texas, which would not have led to the bankruptcy and subsequent struggles. I would not have been depressed for so long, and I wouldn't have met any of my internet friends.
One little note would change so much.
What movies do you have memorized? Bonus points for sharing your favorite quote.

_Bambi_
"He can call me Flower--if he wants to."
"Come on!!! the water's stiff!"
"Thumper---what did your father tell you?" Thumper sighs "Eating greens is a special treat. They make for long ears and great big feet!" in a side whisper to Bambi---"but they sure are awful stuff to eat!---I made that last part up myself."
When Bambi came out on DVD a few years ago we sat down as a family to watch it. My son and I drove Chris bonkers because we were saying the lines with the characters.
I love that movie---I need to watch it, I haven't seen it in a while.
_The Lion King_
"Bowling for buzzards!"
"uh, Timon, I think this one's still alive."
"Are ya aching" "yup yup yup" "for some bacon" "yup yup yup" "he's a big pig" "You can be a big pig too!" "OY!!"
Simba to Scar: "What does that make you?" Scar--"A monkey's uncle."
Jordan watched this movie on a daily basis for more than a year. I'd put it in while I showered and he'd watch the whole thing (except the stampede part) while I got ready for the day.
I bet, once it was in and playing, I could quote it pretty much line for line....
What question do you hate being asked?
It comes in various forms and it gets asked at least once daily if not more often.
A few variations:
- What do you want to do for supper?
- Got any plans for dinner?
- Where do you want supper from?
- What are your plans for supper?
AUGH!!! I get so sick and tired of that question. Why must it be MY decision what the whole family eats? I know I'm the one that does the cooking, the shopping and the cleaning up---but why can't someone have some easy, positive input from time to time? If I make out a menu for the week so there is something relatively concrete I'll be met with: "I don't really feel like having _________ for supper tonight, can you do something different?" When I ask what would they like, they don't have an answer....but they don't want what's planned.
AUGH!!!!! and we are only a family of three. ~sigh~
Totally Terrible Tuesday Things
- Having to come home from visiting with the neices before I was ready
- OC got into another fight while we were gone. This time she's lost a chunk out of her ear and has dried blood all over her back---must be from either the ear or the other cat.
- HOT, I hate HOT!
Totally Terrific Tuesday Things
- Sweet fresh picked blueberries still warm from the sun
- My own bed, with my own pillows and my own fan
- Planning a trip to Virginia or North Carolina for the week of July 4, 2009....meeting family, renting a large house, cabin, or lodge and enjoying whatever there is to enjoy in that part of the country.
- Air conditioning!
- (edited to add) Being acknowledged by one of my VOX neighbors---feels good and made me smile from ear to ear.
Have you ever broken a bone? If not, what's the worst injury you've sustained?
Nope, no broken bones here. I wrecked my bike once: the pedal dug into the bend in my knee and gave me a hole that needed seven stiches and a scrape all the way down to the ankle. Another time I was in the passenger seat in a car wreck. The seat belt kept me in the car as the unbelted driver came across and hit his head on my side of the car then slammed into the driver's side of the car---my door popped open as he was sliding and I would have gotten shoved out of the car if it hadn't been for the seat belt. I recieved aches, pains, and the neck muscles on both sides of my neck were torn. The driver had a double concussion.
I had stitches after the emergency c-section with Jordan---but I don't even begin to remember how many. I, personally have only been to the ER because of the bike wreck, the car wreck, a back spasm (I bent down to pick something up and my muscles seized---I couldn't stand, I couldn't sit, I couldn't walk---I was stuck), a migraine, and once I thought I was having a heart attack.
What do you find interesting or unique about your family history?
Family legend says that Jesse James and the James brothers are our cousins; although there isn't a paper trail.
I don't know if I really want to be related to Jesse James and his bad band of brothers or not.....but it is an interesting tid-bit of family history.
Totally Terrible Tuesday Things
- The server at work fried over the weekend because people can't leave the thermostat alone. Hello people?!?!?! wear a sweater if you are cold and don't wear short shorts and spaghetti straps to the office. Leave the thermostat alone!!
- The server at work was fixed yesterday but is down again today. Have I mentioned that I depend on e-mail for a large part of my job?
- I have a vent about my side of the family---and don't have time to write it out. I don't understand how I came from such a redneck bunch!
- Paul still lives at home with his folks
- Hot, I hate hot
- OC and the feral kitties got into a fight and I haven't seen the feral kitties since (yes, plural, there were two)
Totally Terrific Tuesday Things
- One of my VOX peeps asked me to flesh out a post that I made answering a QotD and submit it to a magazine to see if the editors will publish it. (Now if I can only find time to actually work on that...)
- Going to Tupelo for the week to see my sister-in-law, her husband and the girls while they are down from Boston! YaY!!
- Paul has a job and won't be home all day every day.
- Going to the park for the Fourth of July fireworks---maybe even leaving early enough to hear some of the live bands/music that will be playing.
- Already picked two gallons of blueberries and there are many many more to be picked.
- Finishing a long term project and starting another.
